Shipping to United States: $34.69

Guitar pick signature by talented Mexican metal guitarist Sethgeist from the Culminated band.

It consists of three layers. Two external Ultem and one internal black peek high tech plastic. There is a logo between the layers. A very comfortable, extremely durable and good sounding guitar plectrum.

Shape: Tear
Dimensions: Length: 35, Width: 25mm, Thickness: 6mmc, 7mm, 8mm, 9mm or 10mm

Handcrafted (sawn, carved, shaped and polished) using only workshop power tools.

The plectrum is non-standard thickness for a reason. Namely, a large thickness minimizes movement, increases precision, strength and speed. Therefore playing the guitar requires less effort, which is a relief for the player. As a result, the player will have fewer muscle cramps and tensions, and more comfortable playing.

Layered plectrum properties:

1. Durability:
- Ultem (outer layers) protects the core from impacts but is less abrasion resistant than Peek
- Peek (core): provides rigidity preventing the plectrum from bending.
- The combined effect: a plectrum for those who value comfort but don't want to give up
precision.

2. Sound:
-Attack: soft start (ultem) but with dynamic "push" from the core with peek
- Timbre: Highs muffled by ultem but slightly boosted by peek. Mid tones smooth and balanced. Warm low tones with a clear foundation.
Example use: Blues, alternative rock, chord playing - wherever fluidity is important

3. Ergonomics:
- Ultem's soft grip reduces slippage, even with sweaty fingers,
- Peek core keeps strings in control, preventing sound from "smearing"

Summary: This configuration is aimed at those players who value comfort and warmth of sound over extreme durability.

Characteristics of both materials:

1. PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) is recognized as one of the most versatile and efficient materials on the market. A characteristic feature of PEEK is the combination of unique properties in one material.

Strength properties:
- Hardness: high (similar to hard metal)
- Abrasion resistance: close to Torlon but still lower
- Stiffness: extreme - virtually zero deflection
- Chemical resistance: unsaturated - sweat resistant

Sound characteristics:
- Attack: aggressive and fast with a metallic "ping" in the high notes
- Timbre: bright, clear with excellent sound separation

2. ULTEM (Polyetherimide, PEI)

Strength properties:
- Hardness: medium (between nylon and peek)
- Abrasion resistance: good, but lower than peek
- Elasticity: moderate, slightly elastic

Sound characteristics:
- Attack: balanced - clear but not exaggerated in high tones
- Timbre: neutral, with a slight boost of mid-tones - universal

If you haven't found in my offer the plectrum you are looking for and you need a guitar pick of an unusual shape, size and thickness, don't hesitate to ask. I am open to custom orders :)

Thank you for stepping by.

Average:

The Sphynx is my signature plectrum model. It is the result of many years of experience and it's based on the best specs, settings and materials I've ever tried combined with the world-class craftmanship of Kaz (Luka Plectrums). You can only expect an excellent sound/tone and an accurate passive/active development in your technique as well. That's the main goal of this plectrum and it always acomplishes it. 100/100*
