Kirinite is a plectrum for aesthetes and precisionists who value:
- **Visual uniqueness** – each pattern is unique,
- **Bright, detailed sound** – ideal for solo techniques and fast passages,
- **Durability** – good resistance to wear and tear

**For whom?**
- Stage guitarists who want to stand out with style,
- Lovers of metal, rock and fusion music, where precision counts,
- Collectors looking for limited designs.

**1. Basic Material Properties:**

- **Composition:** Kirinite is an acrylic thermosetting resin, known for its unique patterns and colors, often imitating natural materials (e.g. stone, bone).
- **Hardness:** High (approx. 90-95 on the Shore D scale), which places it between hard Delrin and stiff PEEK.
- **Density:** Moderate - the plectrums are lightweight but do not lose stability.
- **Finish:** Characteristic gloss and smooth surface, often with multi-layered patterns.

**2. Effects on Sound:**

- **Attack:** Bright and precise, with clearly outlined transients - ideal for techniques requiring articulation (e.g. fingerstyle, metal riffs).
- **Timbre:** Luminous, slightly "glassy" in the highs, with a neutral midrange and slightly muffled bass.
- **Sustain:** Shorter than in the case of metal materials, but sufficient to maintain clarity.

**3. Durability:**

- **Wear resistance:** High – Kirinite is resistant to scratches and deformation, even with intensive play.
- **String protection:** Smooth surface minimizes string wear, unlike sharper materials (e.g. steel).

**4. Playability (Playing Comfort):**
- **Stiffness:** Lack of flexibility – the plectrum is stiff, which requires a precise grip, but guarantees control over the dynamics.

**5. Comparison with Other Materials:**
- **Vs. Delrin (Acetal):** Kirinite has a brighter attack and a more decorative appearance, but Delrin is more neutral tonally.
- **Vs. Nylon:** Kirinite is harder and more durable, but lacks the flexibility of nylon, which is better for warm tones.
- **Vs. PEEK:** PEEK offers higher wear resistance and neutrality to the sound, but Kirinite stands out aesthetically.

Average:

This pick is really good. The shape is similar to a Tortex sharp, which is my go-to pick. The thickness being 5mm is new to me, but it feels really good for a playing style that incorporates a lot of alternate picking and directional picking but not nearly as worth it if you use a lot of Selective picking or Hybrid picking or use more percussive picking techniques because the material wears down to quickly, but everything else about the pick feels great its amazing at showing if you had bad picking technique and it also significantly reduces tension required for tremolo picking but this material is a bit slippery not as slippery as Tortex after washing your hands but it does slip a little bit when sweeping. Pinch harmonics are like 10x easier with a pick this thick. 10/10 is a really good pick.
